What would you say to a woman training every day in Afghanistan to negotiate for a healthcare clinic in her community? Or a woman in Nigeria defending her right to own land? Or a woman in Iraq learning tailoring skills to earn an income for the first time?
The non-profit organization Women for Women International supports the most marginalized women in countries affected by conflict and war through social and economic empowerment programs. And as International Women’s Day approaches on March 8, they’re calling not for donations (though that’s always welcome too!), but rather messages of support they can share with their program participants who are learning about their rights, building vocational skills to support their families, and healing from the traumas of war. In addition to sending physical postcards, the organization is taking this year’s campaign to social media with the help of Adobe Spark’s remixable templates.
And you can get involved too! Click the template above or use any of the Women’s History Month designs to share your encouragement with the hashtag #MessageToMySister and tagging @womenforwomen. Pass on your own design by sharing a remixable template link with your followers. From iOS, tap share, select remixable template, and share the link to let others create from your design.
